Passion is 1. a lively or eager interest in or admiration for a proposal, cause, or activity; or

2. an energetic and unflagging pursuit of an aim or devotion to a cause.

That is what characterizes our ministry when it comes to pursuing God and fulfilling the calling upon our lives.

But "Passion Week" in our name mainly derives from the last seven days of Jesus on earth and particularly his sufferings in the last hours, laying down his life for you and us. This implies that we are to "lay down" or "deny ourselves" in order to see the light of the gospel spread.

Secondly, in Acts 1:3, it is recorded that "To them also He showed Himself alive after His passion (His suffering in the garden and on the cross) by [a series of] many convincing demonstrations [unquestionable evidences and infallible proofs], appearing to them during forty days and talking [to them] about the things of the kingdom of God" , this implies that the Passion week ministry is to continue talking to people about the things of the Kingdom of God accompanied by convincing signs and demonstrations.

It is our unflagging belief that Passion Week Ministries (Passion Week Mission International in Canada) did not originate in a man's mind or imagination, but was birthed by the Spirit of the Lord as the founder and a couple of other believers prayed and seek the face of God for clarity for their calling in the spring of 1998.

In a dream-vision, the Lord showed him a symbolic picture of his strategic involvement in completing the remaining unfinished task of world evangelization and told him that the vision was for an appointed time to come.

He treasured these things in his heart for the following seven(7) years, diligently serving the Lord under the mentorship of other mature men of God, in West Africa, America and now in Canada. In late 2003, through much prayer and fasting, the Lord spoke again and said to him: "Go and tell the world about the last seven days of your Lord" .

From there came the name of the ministry. In the last days' gathering of 2004, called "THE JACOB NIGHT", at All Nations Church in Des Moines, Iowa - USA, the Lord spoke prophetically that the year 2005 is a year of destiny , and coupled with personal conviction of the Holy Spirit, we concluded that the appointed time is here.

The Ministry was then made public and has been registered with the Iowa state Secretary as a Non Profit organization. A well formed document has also been filed with the US federal government to be recognised as a Tax Exempt charitable organisation.

Roger Wamba, an american Ordained Christian Minister, of african origin,   is being used by God to bring the vision of the Passion Week Ministries to pass.

 

In 1997, Roger fled his home country amidst severe politico-tribal victimization and government crack-down on leaders of the National Student MovementÂwhere he was the Secretary General. He will spend the next two years in Nigeria under the protection of the United Nations and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In the summer of 1997, Roger, originally from an animistic and african traditional religious background, was for the first time, confronted with the truth of the good news of the Salvation of God. After months of argument and debate with preachers, he finally surrendered his life to God at a crusade of Rev. E. A. Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

He was then baptized in the same church in the Spring of 1998. Roger spent the following years in personal evangelism; Discipleship and Missions Exposure training with the Calvary Ministries, an indigenous Missionary Organization based in Nigeria, God confirming his ministration with great encouragement for believers, delivrances and multitude of salvations.

He was resettled in the State of Iowa by the United States Government in the summer of 1999 and has since become a citizen of the United States, where he has been ministering since 1999. Roger is married with wife, Justine Wamba. The Wambas are blessed with two wonderful children (Emmanuel, born in 2005 in Libreveille, Gabon and David, born in 2008 in Longueil. Quebec - Canada). Minister Wamba and his family temporarily reside in Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA from where he is directing the internationl affairs of the Mission. The Ministry was registered in Canada in the Fall of 2008 under the name: Passion Week Mission International.

We have been blessed with very clear operational plans both in terms of advancing the proclamation of the Gospel in Sub-Saharan Africa and the material and financial support system.

In a nutshell, our ministry philosophy follows the powerful paradigm set by the Lord himself as revealed in Luke 10:1-9. It is a Five sequential steps process as follows:

• Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers in the Not-Yet Reached area (V2 )
• Bless the Not-Yet Reached saying "Peace be to you" (V5)
• Meet the Not-Yet Reached where they are and fellowship with them (V7-8)
• Meet the felt needs of the Not-Yet Reached (V9a)
• Preach the good news to the Not-Yet reached (V9b)

On the financial aspect of the work, we will operate on faith. Our missionaries or Missionaries in Training should not have to be "Funds raisers". We will trust God for our partners to contribute to the Passion Week Ministries World Missions Funds in such an abundant way that our missionaries will just focus on the field work.

Major contacts started in Mali, West Africa in the early days of 2008. A volunteer missionary couple has been diligently working to register the Ministry down there.

In the Month of September 2008, we felt the prompting of the Lord to start working toward our Mission Base in the capital city Bamako. The Ministry recently acquired a compound with multiple Rooms to serve as the First Passion Week Center in the country.

The Ministry is now staffed with two Full Time workers at the base an five (5) volunteers board members:

• 1. A Pastor who is serving as national Director
• 2. A Medical Missions worker

These two will lead our efforts in Missionary recruiting and training. A number of outreaches started in september 2008 (Please click on button number 7 on th menu to se the latest field updates).

We plan a missionary trip in Mali with partners from Canada and the US during the second quarter of 2010, by the special grace of God.

Our main focus in North America is mobilization, both for praying, Serving and Giving. We will also work alongside churches for street evangelism and local organizations to bring tangible and culturally-relevant assistance to immigrants new commers from Africa, particularly refugees so they can become productive members of the community.

Our research and current statistic reveal a very sad fact in the distribution of the workforce in Christiandom: Most English speaking countries are saturated with churches and mission sending organizations. French Africa remains a huge missions field .

Unlike some major English speaking developed nations such as the United States, Canada and England with a huge missionary sending effort for decades, Major French Speaking nations such as France and French Canada currently need some major re-evangelization. The " deliverer " needs " deliverance "!

So our main mission here in the United States and Canada will be to bring awareness of this disturbing situation to the body of believers, mobilize the necessary resources and present some of the strategic plans the Lord has laid on our heart in order to pierce the darkness over French Speaking Africa south of the Sahara Desert, especially the remaining unreached people.

This is a highly specialized type of prayer because it has to be targeted and we are calling on God to bring a very tangible miracle, the miracle of salvation in a whole people group. If you cannot go yourself for one reason or the other, please consider making a small contribution so other can go. You can send money or equipment(computers, clothes, a car, medical equipments, eye glasses, medecines, etc). Do not despise your gift, as small as amy be, it has the potential of a great impact in other lands.

At Passion Week Mission International (PWMI), we believe in the wholistic nature of the message of salvation, as outlined in our Modus Operandis (derived from Luke 10:1-9): Anyone can go for short term or long term missionary activity. In fact we are finding out that the preaching of the message itself requires some ground work, before or simultaneously.
